Largest Nebraska Pick 5 Jackpot Ever Claimed By Benkelman Player
A player from Benkelman, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed a $370,000 Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, the largest jackpot in the game’s 28 year history.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Stop #24 at 1417 A St. in Benkelman. The ticket contained one quick pick play for the October 3 through October 9 drawings, and hit on the final day. The October 9 drawing matched all five numbers on the ticket, 06, 11, 22, 32 and 37.
The winner recently moved to Benkelman from Colorado and decided they liked the odds and prizes of Nebraska Pick 5 more than either of the Colorado Lottery’s two daily five number drawings.
“It’s a blessing,” they said. “It’s truly a blessing.”
The ticket was purchased with the current Nebraska Lottery tear pad coupon which offered players a chance to buy one Pick 5 play for seven draws for $5. Coupons are still available at retailers and are valid through November 30, 2023.
Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska’s unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $10,000 each drawing that is not won, are 1 in 658,008 while the overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings seven nights a week, are 1 in 9.2.
