Gering Man Wins $40,000 Playing Doubler Tripler Big Bingo

David Hernandez-Rios of Gering won $40,000 playing the Doubler Tripler Big Bingo Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery.

Hernandez-Rios purchased his winning ticket at Stagecoach Stop at 320 M Street in Gering.

Hernandez-Rios and family members Olga Hernandez and Bertha Lara left home early Friday morning at 2 a.m. Mountain Time for the Nebraska Lottery’s Lincoln offices and arrived just before 10 a.m. Central.

It was a long drive, but they were planning to head right back home after claiming the top prize.

Hernandez said he plays Lotto and Scratch games often but this was his first time winning big.

A $5 Scratch game, the Doubler Tripler Big Bingo Scratch ticket offers players a chance to win prizes from a free $5 ticket to $40,000. The chances of winning $40,000 are one in 210,000, while the odds of winning any prize are one in 3.63.
